Movies get the spotlight at Halloween, but this year’s Halloween TV shows may be the better binge. From a Mike Flanagan adaptation of Stephen King to a Peacock and A24 slasher, here are the horror series worth streaming this weekend, according to the Haunted Attraction Network’s 2026 streaming guide.

Halloween TV Shows on Prime Video: Carrie

Prime Video’s Carrie premiered October 7 and runs eight episodes. It comes from Mike Flanagan, the filmmaker behind several well-known horror miniseries, and reimagines Stephen King’s story for a new audience.

HBO Max: IT: Welcome to Derry and a True-Crime Chill

IT: Welcome to Derry, featuring Bill Skarsgård, is streaming on HBO Max and has been renewed for a second season. HBO Max also carried The Pet Cemetery Murders: A Ghost Story, a three-part documentary that aired on Sundays from October 11 to 25, for viewers who prefer real-life creepiness.

Peacock and AMC+: Crystal Lake and YAGA

Peacock’s Crystal Lake, produced with A24, premiered October 15 with Linda Cardellini as Pamela. On AMC+, YAGA arrived October 23 with Carrie-Anne Moss, Noah Reid and Hudson Williams. AMC also aired The Terror: Devil in Silver starring Dan Stevens on Sundays, with its finale on October 25, and the series is available on AMC+ if you want to catch up.

FX and Hulu: American Horror Story: 13

American Horror Story: 13 debuted on FX on September 24, with episodes arriving on Hulu the next day. The cast features Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, and the season finale was scheduled for October 29. If you are a completist, tonight is a good night to start catching up on Hulu before spoilers spread.

Family-Friendly Halloween TV

Not every household wants nightmares. The list includes The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror Presents: The Revengening, which aired on Fox October 18 and landed on Hulu the next day. For competition fans, Is It Cake? Halloween returned for season 2 on Netflix on October 9, hosted by Mikey Day. Younger viewers can try Vampirina: Teenage Vampire on Disney Channel and Disney+, and Freeform’s Coven Academy is on Disney+ and Hulu. Freeform is also running its 31 Nights of Halloween block.

Paranormal and Reality Picks

Ghost Adventures premiered on Discovery Channel on September 30 and moved to discovery+ and HBO Max the following day. It is a go-to for viewers who like a little supernatural investigation with their candy.

How to Plan a Halloween Binge Without Burning Out

Series are a bigger commitment than movies, so pick your starting point carefully. Carrie runs eight episodes, which makes it a manageable weekend watch. A three-part documentary like The Pet Cemetery Murders: A Ghost Story is an easy single-evening option. Anthology and long-running shows like American Horror Story: 13 and Ghost Adventures let you jump in without a deep backstory, which is helpful if you are hosting friends who have not followed along.

If you are watching with kids or a mixed-age group, start with the lighter titles first and save the more intense dramas for after bedtime. Many streaming apps include parental controls and age ratings, which are worth a quick check before pressing play.

Keep in mind that several of these shows premiered weekly, so a few finales have only just aired or will land tonight. If you hate spoilers, finish the episodes you care about before opening social media this weekend.

Which Halloween TV Show Should You Pick?

  • Prestige horror: Carrie on Prime Video.
  • Franchise fans: IT: Welcome to Derry on HBO Max.
  • Slasher nostalgia: Crystal Lake on Peacock.
  • Anthology chaos: American Horror Story: 13 on Hulu.
  • Lighter and funnier: The Simpsons Halloween special or Is It Cake? Halloween.

Dates and platforms come from Haunted Attraction Network’s guide, last updated October 27, and can change, so double-check in your streaming app. Looking for movies instead?
